SIGNED LETTER WRITTEN BY RUDYARD KIPLING (1865 - 1936) addressed to Mrs Stone, Kingswood, Rudyard, Leek, Staffs, written from the Grand Pump Room Hotel, Bath, dated 1st January 1934, the typed content reading 'Dear Mrs Stone, We've been at Bath for Christmas and New Year and your letter has just been sent on. Thank you very much for good wishes and souvenir. It has rather special significance just now as, like all the South and West, we are short of water and with all the cattle yarded for the past month, we're getting a little uneasy about their water supply. I hope it's a good omen. Thank you for your nice tale about the butcher's daugher. All good wishes to you both for the New Year.
