R.G. HARDIE OF GLASGOW, SET OF BAGPIPES
MID-20TH CENTURY

in turned hardwood (possibly African blackwood) with ivory ferrules and sole, the chanter stamped maker's mark, along with another chanter by William Sinclair, alongside a kilt, belt and pair of dress brogues

Note: The vendor has owned these pipes since circa 1971. The pipes were played in a World Championship, were they won (grade 2) with Glasgow Transport. Also played (grade 1) with Seagram's 100 Pipers.

This lot contains elephant ivory material. Several countries, including in the EU and USA, prohibit the importation of ivory items unless under specific conditions. Prospective buyers should familiarise themselves with the relevant customs regulations of their country and ensure they are able to import this item prior to bidding.

Ivory Act 2018 (2022) compliant with APHA registration reference 9WX6KTUF.
