CLARICE CLIFF BY BILLIE WATERS 'ART IN INDUSTRY' DEER PATTERN PLATE cirac 1934, designed by Billie Waters (1896-1979), base stamped 'Designed by Billie Waters' with signature, 'Produced in Bizarre by Clarice Cliff, Wilkinson Ltd' and 'Copyright reserved, First Edition 1934', 25.5cm in diameter Note: In 1933 a project began to involve leading artists of the day in designing wares which were then produced by Clarice Cliff in the Bizarre workshops. The results were displayed in a Harrods tableware exhibition in 1934. The Art in Industry Exhibition then toured the country and the public could place orders for the exhibited designs.
