Note: Ambergris, ambergrease, or grey amber is a solid, waxy, flammable substance of a dull grey or blackish colour produced in the digestive system of sperm whales. Ambergris has been highly valued by perfume makers as a fixative that allows the scent to endure much longer. This section was discovered on Luskentyre beach on the Isle of Harris.

 

A condition report is offered as an indication of any issues visible to the naked eye. As none of our staff is a professional conservator or restorer, buyers must satisfy themselves in respect of condition.
