with cast bud finial and repousse foliate decoration, inscribed Presented to James Guthrie Esquire Brauxholm Braes. by 142 of his Friends as a Testimonial of their high sense of his public usefulness, and of his private worth, 7th May 1840 to body and to lower section J. G. Chairman at the Dinner given by the Duke of Buccleugh's Tenantry to his grace. Branxholm, 26th Sept. 1839
