It’s safe to say Holly Inks ran from the constraints of the Norf/Sarf divide - to avoid becoming the next insignificant character of a Shane Meadow’s ‘This is England’ sequel - yet, art became her solace once returning to her roots in the Midlands. Often gestural, she paints what she wished she'd said in the moment, but just wasn’t quick enough to spit out at the time. Intelligently wounded and not afraid to expose herself to the world, she finds sweetness in the bitterness. Observing the highs, lows and late night feelings to create works that laugh in the face of love with a male-esque audacity. Holly is here for the ones who love recklessly, play with fire, get burnt and yet repeat the cycle shamelessly.
