JAMES I OF SCOTLAND (r.1406 - 1437) GOLD DEMY circa 1424-1437, coin clipped, obverse with Scottish lion rampant on lozenge, beaded circle surrounding, initial mark crown, fleur de lis stops, legend clipped but visible 'IACOBVS DE IGRACIA REXSC', reverse with St Andrew's Cross bearing lis either side, I at centre, pellet above and quatrefoil below, within fleured tressure of six arcs, large quatrefoils with pellet centres in outer arcs, beaded circle surrounding, initial mark cross pattée, fleur de lis stops, legend clipped to right side 'SA....LVM TVVMDNE', approximately 3.2g, 20-22mm in diameter Note: A similar but finer example of this coin resides in The National Museums of Scotland Collection, Reference number H.C52
