Note: Donald Manson was born in Ayr in 1948. He attended the Glasgow School of Art from 1966-1971. He was taught drawing and painting by David Donaldson RSA, RP, RGI, James D Robertson MBE, D Litt, RSA, RSW, RGI, PAI, Duncan Shanks RSA, RSW, RGI and Alexander Goudie RP, RGI. In 1969, Manson was awarded a scholarship to attend Hospitalfield College, Arbroath under the tutorship of Jack Knox RSA, RSW, RGI. He was awarded the Diploma of Art in 1970 together with the Royal Scottish Academy Diploma Show Prize. He was awarded a Postgraduate Scholarship at the Glasgow School of Art, 1970-1971. Donald Manson attended Jordanhill College from 1971 – 1972 where he obtained a Degree in Teaching. He taught Art & Design for many years in schools in Ayrshire, Glasgow and Renfrewshire. Solo exhibitions include – Fine Art Society, Glasgow, Roger Billcliffe Gallery, Glasgow and the Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh. Group exhibitions – Fine Art Society Glasgow, Roger Billcliffe Gallery, Glasgow and the Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh and other galleries in the UK. The artist has shown at the RSA, RSW, RGI and PAI. He has been represented at many art fairs in Scotland and England. His paintings can be found in many private and corporate collections both in the UK and abroad.
