A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH JAPONISME CABINET IN THE MANNER OF GABRIEL VIARDOT

LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH WALNUT JAPONESQUE 'SHODANA' ATTRIBUTED TO GABRIEL VIARDOT
the moulded upturned galleried cornice with overhanging central grotesque animal, seven tiers of galleried and open shelves below, supported by square incise carved uprights, also three cupboards, the largest central cupboard enclosed by a panel door carved with central figure standing by a trellis with stylised waves below, within an arched frame, with foliate carved border, the smaller cupboard above carved with a central floral roundel in high relief, smaller cupboard lower left enclosed by a geometrically carved panel door, single short drawer to the lower right, with a carved and pierced apron, on bracket feet with upturned toes, 114cm wide, 163cm high
