Note: Actor and presenter Paul Young (b. Edinburgh 1944) has had a long and varied career.

He has starred in a rich variety of productions across theatre, film, television and radio, these including Hooked on Scotland, No Job for a Lady, Coronation Street, Taggart, The Crow Road, and of course Still Game.

The first and last mentioned are of particular importance.

It was with Hooked on Scotland that Young went on to find long-lasting fame amongst the fishing community. The show was first broadcasted on BBC in 1991, soon winning a BAFTA. It would run for two seasons before being taken on by ITV and then The Discovery Chanel, running for over 8 seasons until 2004.

More recently, Young met with acclaim for his role as Hugh ‘Shug’ McLaughlin in the much celebrated Still Game. He appeared occasionally in the early series, before becoming a regular feature in 5 and 6.

Scripts from his career, as well as his father (John Young, who starred in productions including Braveheart and Monty Python films), are offered between lots 240 and 247 in this sale.
