Note: Painter of on-the-spot landscapes using a rich palette, and teacher, born in Plymouth, Devon, of Cornish parents, settling in Botallack, St Just, in 1987. Vigg was a mature student of painting at Rolle College, Exmouth, under Alan Cotton and gained a degree in fine art at Exeter University, 1969–74. He taught art at Oliver Goldsmith School, 1975–6, then at Farringdon House, Exeter, 1976–82 leaving to concentrate on his own work. Painted extensively in the West Country notably in West Penwith, with regular trips to France. In 1972 Vigg was made a member of St Ives Society of Artists. Showed in Cornish mixed exhibitions and had a series of solo shows, starting with University of Exeter, 1985, later ones including St Ives Society of Artists from 1994. Vigg was the author of a book on the maritime painter Thomas Luny.
