To commemorate the opening of the Blavatnik Art, Film, and Photography Galleries, Jeremy Deller has crafted a limited edition print series for IWM, with each print personally signed by the artist. Drawing inspiration from one of IWM's most iconic works, John Singer Sargent's 'Gassed,' and exploring the language patterns of AI, Deller employs text to fashion a novel description of the painting. He delves into the fundamental nature of images and the cultural viewing experience. 'Gassed' was commissioned at the end of the First World War as a symbol and memorial of the conflict. It emerged as one of the most well-known works from the war artist scheme.
