EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH FAIENCE BASKET,
the tapered oval bowl with with lattice rim and twin ribbon handles, hand-painted to one side with a scene of young lovers signed E. Doc, and a floral garland surmounted by swags to the other, on a lattice foot, printed 'Lille 1767' to foot, 12.4cm high

There has been damage and restoration, primarily to pierced rim and one ribbon where there are obvious and crude 'repairs'; other ribbon with cracks; strands at base with cracks, mostly firing from manufacture; further overall areas of touch up, a few chips to base, rubbing, general wear, additional images provided
