Still a relative youngster in whisky terms, Arran distillery began production in 1995. Thanks to a focus on sourcing quality casks, and its light, accessible spirit that ages well, Arran has proven extremely successful. So much so, that in 2017 they began construction of a second distillery on the other side of the island. Sharing a name with Arran’s only other previous legal still (closed in 1837), Lagg distillery focuses on producing peated spirit.
