GOLD MEDAL FOR THE XXXVII EXPOSITION MUNICIPALE DES BEAUX-ARTS 1906 AWARDED TO JAMES KAY RSA RSW (SCOTTISH 1858 - 1942) with the moulded crest for the city of Rouen, France to one side and moulded with VILLE DE ROUEN and wreath motif to the reverse with XXXVII EXPOSITION MUNICIPALE DES BEAUX ARTS 1906 MR JAMES KAY engraved to the other, 38mm diameter, 28g Note: In 1906, Scottish artist James Kay won this gold medal at the 37th Exposition Municipale des Beaux Arts de Rouen for his work 'Winter' which was then bought for Rouen's city collection of art
