Note: Michael Corsar studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee from 1992–1996 and graduated BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Drawing and Painting. Light and, specifically, its interaction with clouds, water and architecture is what inspires him. Starting with an almost black canvas he gradually teases out images, removing darkness, illuminating the scene. Working on the whole from memory his paintings are reflections of inner thoughts and feelings at specific moments rather than straight forward representations of an actual place, leaving space for the viewer to imbue the painting with their own contemplations. Michael Corsar is represented by Roger Billcliffe Gallery (Glasgow).
