circa 1850, the 170cm body tube with rack and pinion focusing, angle fine screw adjustment and clamp, star finder, and supported on an equatorial mount, with hour scale divided into 30-minute sub-divisions, vernier scale with magnifier and arm with fine screw adjustment, north south declination scale divided 0-90°, in four quadrants, vernier scale magnifier and counter balance weight, supported on tapered brass column on an oak tripod, with dust cap, eyepiece cover and contained over three hardwood cases with extension tube, six eyepieces and two angled extension tubes
