Note: After working in a number of different mediums, the inspiration to create art by fusing glass began. Over the years Makinson has experimented and developed techniques using the beautiful yet unpredictable nature of working with glass. His passion is to create handcrafted, original fused glass art works. Each piece is individually designed and created using a multi-layered approach with glass. Using a variety of high quality coloured opaque and transparent glass, the art work is kiln fired multiple times. This ensures the finished work is one unified piece of glass that is three dimensional, unique and original. Alec Makinson's work is exhibited and sold at galleries throughout the UK including Breeze Galleries, Watergate Street Gallery, Vermilion Galleries, Watson Gallery (Edinburgh) and Cloud Gallery (Chichester, Worthing & Brighton).
