Note: Ethel Walker studied at Glasgow School of Art 1959-64. After a period of teaching she decided to paint full-time and held her first exhibition in Edinburgh in 1972. Since then she has held a vast number of solo exhibitions not only in Scotland and the south of England but also as far away as New York. Perhaps best known for views of the West Coast of Scotland Walker lives and works in Argyll where she says ‘my inspiration mainly comes from the ever-changing skies and unexpected weather’ She has received numerous awards from the R.G.I., S.A.A.C., and G.W.S.A. and her work is represented in many Corporate and Private collections both home and abroad.
