Note: Painter of flowers, portraits and landscapes who studied at Glasgow School of Art. Became a member of the Kirkcudbright School, where she lived from the mid-1930s, and exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Academy (London), SWA and Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Was included in Still Life in the Twentieth Century at Bourne Fine Art (now The Fine Art Society), Edinburgh, 1999. McLean Museum and Art Gallery, Greenock, hold her work. Lena Alexander painted in pastel and sometimes watercolour. She was a member of Scottish Society of Women Artists. Stewartry Museum file contains a photo of artist in studio. Lena moved to Kirkcudbright in 1939, and was one of the last surviving members of the Kirkcudbright School.
