Stewart Swan is a Glasgow-based visual artist and designer. He graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2005 with a BA (Hons) degree in Visual Communication. Stewart's mixed-media works-of-art draw on a range of disciplines obtained as a designer and practicing visual artist. Fascinated by the nuances of human expression, behaviour and body language, Stewart creates dark and burlesque-style portraits that expose the "grotesquely menacing demeanour" of his subjects. Over the last ten years, Stewart has been successful in showcasing his work through a number of solo and group exhibitions. This period has enabled him to develop and mature as a painter and as a skilled communicator through the visual arts.
