Davie Cooper (1956-1995) joined Glasgow Rangers Football Club in 1977, a £100,000 transfer from Clydebank. Cooper went on to make 376 appearances for the club. He moved to Motherwell in 1989 where he formed part of Scottish Cup winning squad in 1991. Cooper then returned to Clydebank in 1993. He tragically died in 1995 aged only 39. Cooper is remembered as one of the most significant players in the histories of Clydebank, Rangers and Motherwell football clubs. He was inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2000, Clydebank's in 2008 and Motherwell's in 2020.

This jersey was awarded to Cooper's family in 1999, when he was recognised in Rangers' Greatest Ever Team worldwide poll, a list of the club's all-time greatest players. He is remembered as one of the most significant players in the Rangers' history.
