Ewan’s passion for whisky was first sparked on sailing holidays around the west coast of Scotland. Whether this was down to the inspirational, rugged landscape and rolling waves, or because there isn’t really much to do at night on a small boat is up for debate. Probably a little of both.
In early 2015 Ewan seized the opportunity to turn his love of whisky into a career when he began working at a dedicated auction in Glasgow. There he was able to greatly expand upon his knowledge of the subject, becoming recognised within the industry, before joining McTear’s in 2022 in the role of Whisky Specialist.
Away from whisky, Ewan’s main interests are music, playing guitar, photography, and skiing whenever he gets the chance.
