28 August Hammer Highlights

The Jewellery Auction

Friday was an exciting day of auctions kicked off by none other than The Jewellery Auction.

With gold prices still high, many gold bracelets and necklaces soared above estimate. However it was coloured gems that really stole the show!

Taking the top spot was lot 889, a beautiful emerald and diamond three stone ring. With competition on the phone and in the saleroom, the hammer was brought down after some exciting bidding with the ring achieving £4637 including fees.

Sapphire and diamond rings were also very popular during viewing and this was reflected on auction day, with two stunning lots selling to Glasgow-based buyers. Lot 881, a sapphire and diamond target ring sold for £2318, closely followed by lot 911 which reached £2190. These rings are sure to brighten up any dreary Glaswegian day!

Perhaps you missed out on these sparklers? With Jewellery Auctions taking place every three weeks, there’s plenty more where those came from!
