The Coin Auction held on 6 August was certainly one to remember! With a plethora of exciting lots, let’s take a look at some of the top performers.
With gold prices at a high, bidders were very keen to get their hands on some gold coins! Lot 5, a George VI gold sovereign sold for £3220 including buyers premium. With only 5,500 minted, these are highly collectable and cause quite the bidding war at auction.
Lot 161, a collection of interesting Roman and Greek coins and artefacts sold for £1288 closely followed by lot 158, a collection of Ancient world coins sold for £1160 including fees.
