Hammer Highlights

16/12/2019     Jewellery

The final Jewellery Auction of 2019 was a sparkling event with the three top selling lots all set with diamonds. Lot 393, a rare and impressive late 19th century diamond pendant, fetched £5400 including fees.

After competition in the room, the pendant sold to a telephone bidder based locally. Lot 353, a Bulgari bangle, also impressed with competition online, in the room and on the phone. The winner of this seldom to auction lot was present in the room and the hammer fell at £3200.

Traditional items continue to perform well, and the diamond three stone ring at lot 282 was no exception. Selling to a room bidder for £3400, it saw competition online and from other saleroom bidders.

Of the more unusual items, lot 441 was a beautiful rubellite and diamond ring. This achieved £3400. Rubellite is the commercial name for red tourmaline, a comparatively less well known variety of the gem

The first Jewellery Auction of the new year is on 12 Jan 2020 – see you then!
