A golden week of auctions

Join us this Thursday, 3 November 2022, for three auctions.

All that glitters is definitely gold in the Coins & Banknotes Auction, with a number of impressive gold proof sets commemorating a series of 20th century battles. An impressive Dunkirk 80th Anniversary gold proof sovereign set is estimated to fetch between £1,800 and £2,500, while a World War I set, comprising five gold sovereigns from each year of the war, is expected to sell for £1,600.

They may not be gold, but interest is likely to be high amongst historians when two unusual ancient Roman coins go under the hammer. The Valerian I billion and Gallienus bronze coins are likely to fetch several hundred pounds.

Rolex sits at the top end of the luxury brand spectrum and the Time in Motion: A Curation of Rare & Luxury Watches auction, also on Thursday, shows exactly why these prestigious timepieces are so much in demand.

No fewer than 13 of the timepieces will go under the hammer, with both dress and sports watches featuring.  An iconic Pepsi GMT Master and Submariner are expected to fetch up to £12,000 and £8,000 respectively, while an 18ct gold Datejust could reach £7,000.

A spectacular sapphire and diamond ring, with 4.95 carat step cut sapphire has an estimate of £6,000 to £8,000, while a diamond bracelet, adorned with gems totalling 5.75 carats could be yours for £7,000.
