Drinker's delight

Currently active and ending on 8 February, McTear’s have an online malt whisky auction which has the drinker and casual collector in mind.

Wither you have a taste for young whiskies or like to accumulate early releases, lot 4 might just catch your eye. Estimated to sell for £30–£50 and comprising the Arran Founder’s Reserve, which was one of the first single malt releases from the Isle of Arran distillery in 1998, the bottle is aged at just over 3 years. The second bottle in this lot is from the more recently established distillery on Lewis, the Abhainn Dearg distillery. This young spirit was distilled in 2010, and bottled after only a few months and is one of only 1000 bottles.

If your palate is more suited to the delicate nature of the Speyside single malt whiskies then lot 12 will be just what you are looking for. Consisting on Speyburn 10 years old, Singleton of Auchroisk 10 years old, Singleton of Dufftown 12 years old and Strathisla 12 years old, there is not a whiff of smoke to be found, and is estimated to sell for £60-£100.
