Gordon & Macphail Queen’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Royal occasions have always been reason for special edition bottlings by producers, wither it be a wedding, birth, or anniversary.

Featuring in the March 26 Rare & Fine Whisky auction, McTear’s is proud to offer four Gordon & MacPhail bottlings which were produced to commemorate HRH Queen Elizabeth II twenty-five years on the throne in 1977.

Delving deeper into the Macallan, Highland Park, Mortlach and Glenfarclas spirits and you discover that as these were bottled in 1977 to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, and are 25 years old, the spirits will have been distilled no later than 1952. Which when you consider the distilleries which these spirits have hailed from, makes these a real rarity, and something that every collector will be keen to have.

With auction estimates ranging from £600-£800 for the Mortlach, and £1,000-£1,500 for the Macallan, these would appeal to the most avid of whisky or Royalist collectors.
