Hammer Delights

Friday was an exciting day of auctions which was kicked off with the jewellery auction. With an array of lots ranging from gold bracelets to modern diamond rings, it was a slightly older item that took the top spot.

Lot 1306, a certificated Edwardian ruby and diamond ring was popular on view and commanded some fierce bidding before reaching £2965 including buyer’s premium.

The Edwardian era was known for its delicate and feminine jewellery and often resembled lace. With its delicate scalloped edge, once upon a time this ring would have rested upon the finger of an important, wealthy Edwardian lady. Its pretty appearance will never go out of style and will be admired for years to come.
