There are certain whiskies that need no introduction, and Macallan’s Anniversary Malt is certainly among them. It has been a staple of whisky auctions for decades now, and as the number of bottles in circulation has dwindled, so prices have soared. If there’s one distillery hot on Macallan’s heels for the title of most collectable single malt it’s Campbeltown’s finest, Springbank. One of the stars of July’s auction is a fabulous 1965 vintage, bottled by W.M. Cadenhead’s.

This cask strength, Sherry matured bruiser has received stellar reviews from anybody lucky enough to sample it, and because it was drawn from one single cask it’s about as rare as whisky gets. These extraordinary drams are sure to generate significant interest from connoisseurs and collectors alike.
