More than 200 leading urban, street, and contemporary artists from across the world are coming together to support one of Glasgow’s most cherished causes, the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

The highly anticipated charity art auction will once again take place at our Glasgow galleries, where the collection, brought together by long-time supporter of the charity and art enthusiast Steve McGill, will be showcased during the week-long public viewing, culminating in the live sale on Friday 31st October. Bidding will be available in person and online, raising vital funds to help children and families supported by the hospital.
This year’s event will showcase 206 original artworks, including pieces by internationally acclaimed artists such as Rana Begum, John Pasche (creator of the Rolling Stones’ iconic ‘Hot Lips’ logo), Anthony Frost, Nick Smith, and Jonathan Edelhuber, among many others.
Adding a unique touch, all the artworks have been created on handmade recycled paper crafted in Thailand, making this year’s collection particularly distinctive. Opening the contemporary art market to everyone, the auction will feature works at a wide range of price points, from £30 to several thousand pounds.
Steve McGill, the driving force behind the initiative, said: “Each year, I’m blown away by the generosity and enthusiasm of the artists who contribute to this event. The response to this year’s call for entries has been phenomenal, and the resulting collection is nothing short of extraordinary. Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity makes a real difference to so many young lives, and I’m hopeful that art lovers will once again come together to help support this vital work.”
William McGowan-Smith, Head of Partnerships & Business Development at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, commented: “We’re truly humbled by the generosity shown by Steve, McTear’s, and all of the artists involved. Every artwork tells a story of compassion and creativity, and the funds raised will go directly toward life-changing projects, from specialist equipment and family support services to groundbreaking research. This auction is a perfect example of the community spirit that keeps our hospital family strong.”
Brian Clements, our Managing Director, added: “We are very pleased to once again support this local charity by taking this great collection of artworks to a global bidding audience. The calibre of artists taking part this year is exceptional, and the creativity on display is matched only by the generosity behind it. The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity does fantastic and vital work, and we’re proud to play a part in helping them continue their mission.”
All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the charity, with no vendor commission, buyer’s premium, or internet surcharge applied.
The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Auction will take place at 10am on Friday 31st October, with public viewing available from Monday 27th October at 12pm.
