This auction enjoyed competition from across the globe. With coins from Ancient Rome and Greece to gold krugerrands and foreign banknotes, there was plenty to choose from!
With krugerrands and sovereigns continuing to perform very well in this dedicated auction, strong results were also seen for silver coins. Banknotes, too, still pique bidding interest the world-over. A collection of Scottish banknotes sold for a hammer price of £240 to a lucky bidder in Russia. These beautifully coloured banknotes won’t look out of place in the vibrant city of Moscow.
Advice on selling coins and banknotes is free and without obligation. The next Coins & Banknotes auction takes place on 22 July. To consign to this auction, make an appointment to visit our Glasgow Galleries or contact a specialist by clicking this link and completing the short form.
