We look forward to welcoming you to 31 Meiklewood Road, Glasgow, G51 4GB.

What to expect and what’s required to visit

  • Following the recent Scottish Government announcement, customers will be
required to wear a face-covering on entering our premises
(you’ll need to supply your own covering/mask).
  • On arriving at McTear’s you will be asked to sanitise your hands.
  • Your temperature will also be read by a thermal camera.
  • You will see floor markers indicating where to stand and wait.
  • It may be necessary to wait outside before entering the premises or a gallery.
We will not keep you waiting a second longer than needed!
  • We ask you to maintain a distance of two meters from others at all times.
  • You will see staff wearing gloves and masks.
  • Screens have been installed throughout the premises at interaction stations.
  • In the saleroom, we ask you to sit only with members of your own household and
maintain a safe distance from others.
  • The café is open for sit-in and takeaway orders of food and drinks.
  • We ask you not to attend if you or anyone in your household displays any of the
Covid-19 symptoms widely reported or any sign of illness.

All of these measures have been implemented to safeguard your health and that of our staff.
We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Valuations, Collections and Consignments are now by appointment.
There are various types of appointment you can make.

Valuation Appointment

You can book a valuation appointment with a specialist for a complimentary, no-obligation auction valuation.

Quick Drop Off – for items already valued

This option is to consign items that don’t require a valuation or have already been valued. We may ask you to leave larger consignments with us to catalogue out-with busy times. We will provide you with a receipt for the items and then update you as soon as all items are lotted for auction.

Buyer Collection/Vendor Collection

We ask you to please make payment for your items online before attending for collection.
Payment can be made upon collection and we encourage card payments.

To discuss a home appointment, estate or insurance valuation please contact us on 0141 810 2880 or

Viewing and Auction Days – No Appointment Needed

We will ensure your safety by controlling the number of people in our galleries at one time. Condition reports will be available via our online catalogue and over the phone. Bidding can be undertaken online, on the telephone and by absentee bid for those not in the saleroom. We request card payments and payments online.

External Valuations and Property Clearances

Our Valuers and Removal Team will ensure your safety by wearing gloves and masks when attending your property. We ask all people present in the property to wear a mask and maintain a distance of two meters at all times. Please open windows in the property to allow good ventilation and have the minimum number of people present. Contact us with any questions – or 0141 810 2880.

This has quickly become our ‘new normal’! What’s unchanged is our dedication to providing you with a first-class customer service and experience. Our staff will be on-hand to assist you and are looking forward to welcoming you soon.

Thank you for your continued custom and support.
