This auction attracted fierce bidding from all over the globe, most notably the USA and China, with the regular contingent of domestic and continental European interest.
The star performer on the day was the Glenlivet 1940 Gordon & MacPhail aged 70 years, which was won by a bidder in New York for a fantastic £15,000 hammer price. Macallan, never to be out done, also had a strong performance, with the Adelphi 30 year old independent bottling selling for more double the low estimate, reaching £2,200 with an English bidder.
The appetite for rare and fine whiskies shows no signs of waning in this six weekly dedicated international auction.
