The inaugural Toys, Models & Pop Culture auction here at McTear’s certainly lived up to the billing.
A private collection of die-cast models made well over £4,000 with offerings of Matchbox keenly contested among collectors.
A Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire signed by J. K. Rowling and accompanied by the Golden Ticket from the signing was always going to attract interest and it duly exceeded expectations selling for an impressive £1,200 while a desirable set of Deluxe First Editions went to a new home for £650.
Comics proved particularly popular with both the older and newer generations: an early complete run of Silver Surfer went for £1,400 while a Deadpool first appearance in The New Mutants #98 made £280.
Finally a rare Space Conqueror Man of Tomorrow figure by Japanese firm Daiya provided a fitting finale going for £600 after online competition.
Entries are invited for the next auction, taking place 28 April. For a complimentary, no-obligation valuation, make an appointment to visit our Glasgow Galleries, or contact our specialists by clicking this link and completing the short form.
