Whisky: A Kaleidoscopic Spectrum of Spirit

Whisky: A Kaleidoscopic Spectrum of Spirit

Made from just three simple ingredients, barley, water, and yeast, it is astounding to think just how varied and versatile whisky can be. Ranging from light, floral and grassy, to sooty, oily and unctuous; no two distilleries are the same. Even two identical casks, filled at the same time, at the same distillery, and aged for the same duration can yield different flavours when bottled. That’s what makes whisky one of the most engaging and exciting spirits in the world, and we’re thrilled to present an auction that encompasses its full spectrum of spirit-y goodness!

Highlights include gentle Lowland fruitiness from the likes of Rosebank and Bladnoch; sweet, sherried Speysiders such as Aberlour, Glenfarclas and Macallan; Highland heavyweights from Dalmore and GlenDronach; and smoky peat monsters from Lagavulin, Laphroaig and Brora.

Viewing is open to the public from Wednesday 17th August at 9am.

Bidding is available in the room, by commission, telephone and online. To submit bids via this online catalogue, please sign in/register.
