With the fantastic selection of whiskies available there was no doubt that the April whisky auction would attract plenty of attention. We were pleasantly stunned by the two Macallan 1970 Fine & Rare miniatures that achieved hammer prices of £1900 and £1600, more than twice their estimated value. Another star of the show was a 1972 22-Year-Old Brora from the Rare Malts range that sold for £4800 proving that, despite the distillery re-opening in 2021, demand for these older vintages hasn’t diminished.
With plenty of strong showings from Bowmore, Macallan, Springbank and Port Ellen, we are eagerly anticipating many more excellent results in the next whisky auction, taking place on 27 May.
