The bid's in the room!

We are delighted that with the relaxation of government restrictions, from Monday 26 April 2021, clients can now attend auctions to bid in person and of course preview the auctions within McTear’s galleries.

During the most recent lockdown, auctions at McTear’s continued via our live bidding platform - allowing, and enticing, many who had not bid at an auction before to be involved in the excitement of a ‘real’ auction. The fact that registered bidders at McTear’s increased five-fold during the last few months is of course very pleasing, though returning to normality is what we have all been looking forward to.

That normality has now resumed, and we look forward to welcoming our customers, sellers and buyers, old and new, along to McTear’s for the exciting schedule of auctions that we continue to host. Our appointment system and distanced, number-limited attendance at auctions will ensure a safe and comfortable visit.

The auctions will of course continue to he held concurrently live online. Our long-established database of national and international bidders participating online has been instrumental in bringing McTear’s onto a level playing field with international counterparts.
