This Scottish Contemporary Art Auction saw plenty of excellent and exciting bidding in the room, on the telephone and online. There was fierce competition for lots by Tom McKendrick and Jolomo, as well as Peter Howson and David Shrigley. Larger pictures were undoubtedly the stars of the sale, with a spectacular large oil by Graeme Wilcox selling for a hammer price of £3,800 and a showstopping and large oil by John Bellany titled ‘Salome’ selling for £11,000. A small unframed oil by Eileen Forrester Agar raised plenty of interest, and sold for double the high estimate for a hammer of £8,000 after tense internet and commission bidding.
