A medal from the earliest days of Celtic Football Club is one of many star lots in our upcoming Sporting Medals & Trophies Auction. Dating from the 1888/89 season, this Glasgow North Eastern Football Association medal punctuates the tragic story of the life of Mick McKeown.
Alongside this, a medal awarded to Derek Johnstone when Rangers picked up the league cup in 1971 is featured. This comes from the iconic game where Johnstone was to score the only goal, lifting the cup at the tender age of 16.
Another rare Rangers piece is a wartime trophy from unofficial Southern Scottish League Emergency Cup. Awarded to future manager, Scot Symon, this is the first time one such piece has ever come to auction.
Viewing is open to the public from Tuesday 2 November from 9am.
Bidding is available in the room, by commission, telephone and online. Live online bidding is available with no additional surcharge when registering through mctears.co.uk. To submit bids via this online catalogue, please sign in/register.
