The Watches Auction boasts a number of impressive timepieces, each suited to a different occasion.
Whilst many timepieces serve a practical purpose such as lot 885. This military watch by Omega, was manufactured for use by military personnel, specifically the Air Ministry. Recognisable by the matte white dial with luminous hour markers and stainless steel case, this bears the markings 'A.M, 6B/159, 3753/56' to the reverse. Many 6B/159’s were surplus after WWII and reissued later on, hence the date of 1956 on this particular example.
Perhaps an event such as a cocktail party requires a smart dress watch such as lot 838, a beautiful diamond cocktail watch. One can imagine this being worn during the height of the glamorous era in the 1920’s.
Perhaps the modern day equivalent of a cocktail watch would be lot 817, a chic Longines watch cased in eighteen carat gold.
With gentleman’s dress watches such as lot 809 and lot 841, these provide versatility to wear either to a business meeting or to the beach club!
Whatever your style, the Watches Auction has plenty to offer!
